My name is Jaden Adams and I am writing this email on behalf of Shamus Cain and all of the "Party goers" whom were invited to the gathering, friends with Zach, and that attended and were affected by the abuse of power that the Ottawa Police chose to enforce on the people trying to merely leave the party. I have read the article and was a little taken back at the lack of evidence and actual insight pertaining to the event itself. There were issues that were completely abandoned and stripped clean of the article that was published and I am going to inform you of them now. After the incident with Keira which many witnesses whom are all good people regardless of their age, if they have children and families, or what their position in society is saw with their own two eyes absolute disregard for human beings' personal space in many instances. A friend of mine named Jason Mackaskil was apprehended with force by two police officers and thrown in the back of a cruiser as the party was still in progress and before any out of conduct issues had taken place without being read his rights or told why he was being arrested. They released him an hour later and told him he would be getting fined for underage drinking. Jason is 21... Shamus and I personally witnessed 2 police officers aggressively beat down a random partyer while he was leaving the party and already several hundred yards down the street from Zachs house. He was cuffed and forced into captivity for speaking his mind. The event that affected Shamus and I the most was actually something that had happened to us and a few friends. After we witnessed the complete disregard of authority these officers were using Shamus and I decided to leave the scene and get back to our houses with a few friends. As we were walking down the street (I would say we were 2 or 3 blocks away) our friend Devon biked beside us casually. Behind us I heard a screeching Police cruiser that proceeded to pass us by and full fledged smashed into my friend Devon on his bike, knocking him down and completely warping the frame from the force of the impact. Startled..Shamus, a friend Matt and I ran to our friends aid as the officer got out of the car and told us to "Get back". Not concerned at all with what could have happened to our friend Devon the officer confronted us instead of Devon and would not let us near him. We questioned why he would have done such a thing and obviously were concerned about the fact that he broke the law at his whim and next thing we know he whipped out his canister of mace. With not a glimpse of warning he sprayed Shamus Matt and I directly in the eyes incapacitating all three of us for doing nothing but being over concerned about our friend whom just got hit by a cruiser. After getting maced Matt and Shamus were taken to a friends house to have their eyes washed out and I stayed being unable to see, move, or breathe. One officer decided to show some compassion because he felt the situation was unnecessary and had gotten out of hand offering me saline and washed out my eyes the best he could. As this was happening a couple officers (I could not make out their all of their faces due to the mace) snickered as I was getting help. I recall one officer stating "I would rather get tasered then maced any day". My room ate who watched the entire situation play out on the sidelines and actually has pictures of me after getting maced recalls an officer telling an on-looker getting badge numbers with his cell phone "You better be careful with that or I may mistake it as a weapon and toss it down the street". After all of this ensued I was placed in a cab and got a ride back to my house and I particularly remember the cab driver being kind and giving me water for my eyes as he drove me home. We told him the story and he was disgusted and appalled at what he saw. I immediately hopped into the shower and called Poison Control, 911, and the Police Station to file a complaint. My roommate took over the phone duties after all three of the numbers couldn't really tell me what to do about the mace due to the fact that they didn't know enough about actually relieving the body of mace other then trying your best to wash it off and wait it out. I am and will forever be disgusted with the sheer thought of what took place that night with individuals who are supposed to be keeping the peace and protecting the citizens. In every sense of the word we were victims of police brutality. We had done nothing wrong and were wrongfully dealt with. We will be handing out complaint slips to everyone who was involved in the situation and will take it as far as need be to see a little justice for the people who were actually harmed for no real or given reason. Mace is a tactic that should be used to apprehend people not to shut them up... We appreciate you giving us the time and hopefully you actually listen and take to heart what I have written. Maybe the public is ready to hear the real/whole story. Feel free to get in touch and we would be happy to recount the terrible events of the night with you and hopefully we can help bring awareness as to what happened and bring those responsible to justice. Thanks for your time.

The Haunting

I am falling faster than anyone at all
Into speed
Into reality...
Think about the stars and how the compliment the night time
Sky has engulfed periods of the hopeful
Its a haunting revolt becoming so youthful
Backed up by the cries of our homes and you are in for experience
We have done this all before and it's beginning to weigh on my mind
As serious as the heartache held behind the suitcase
Wanting it to escape into the night time skiy...

Its a haunting revolt becoming so youthful.
